Extensions, loft and basement conversions, renovations and new homes in Enfield, designed and built by Milkov & Son from our base in Hendon.
Enfield stretches from the Edwardian villas of Winchmore Hill and Grange Park to the 1930s semis of Southgate and the Georgian and Victorian centre of Enfield Town. Milkov & Son works across the borough — extensions and lofts on the inter-war streets, and careful renovations of the older houses in the conservation areas.
Winchmore Hill and Grange Park are largely Edwardian and 1920s–30s houses on generous plots, with the Winchmore Hill Green and Grange Park conservation areas; Southgate and Palmers Green mix Edwardian terraces (the Lakes Estate) with 1930s semis; Enfield Town has Georgian and Victorian houses around Gentleman's Row and the Town conservation area; Bush Hill Park is a planned Victorian and Edwardian suburb with its own conservation area. Further east, Victorian terraces and inter-war housing predominate.
Enfield is the London Borough of Enfield. Outside its conservation areas — Enfield Town, Winchmore Hill Green, Grange Park, Bush Hill Park, The Lakes Estate, Southgate Green and others — permitted development applies to houses in the usual way, and Enfield is generally receptive to rear extensions and rear dormers on semis. In conservation areas, Article 4 directions cover many front-facing changes and streetscape features such as front boundary walls. Enfield's householder design guidance follows familiar principles: subordinate side extensions, rear extensions that respect neighbours' daylight, and dormers within the roof slope. Basements are assessed for drainage and neighbour impact.
Rear and side-return kitchen extensions on Edwardian and 1930s houses; loft conversions; whole-house renovations of larger Grange Park and Winchmore Hill houses; and occasional basements under the bigger Edwardian villas.
Most of the borough has reasonable access and off-street parking; the terraced streets of Palmers Green and Bush Hill Park need skip permits and parking suspensions arranged with Enfield. Clay soils and mature trees affect foundation design as elsewhere in North London. Party wall notices apply to semis and terraces.

Enfield Town, Bush Hill Park, Winchmore Hill, Grange Park, Southgate, Palmers Green, Oakwood and Cockfosters, and the wider borough by arrangement.
Outside the conservation area a rear dormer within the 40/50 m³ allowance is usually permitted development. Within Winchmore Hill Green or Grange Park conservation areas, roof alterations need a planning application.
